Barbecue Sauce Recipes

When it comes to barbecue sauce recipes, they are as wide as the colors of a rainbow. Stop in at your local wing place and you'll see what I mean. They have mild, medium, garlic, hot, really hot, and sign this waiver hot. there's a place near where I live that has 18 different sauces, at least last time I counted. I'm very interested in this section to see how many variations we can get listed on this site. Have fun experimenting and enjoy.

Classic Red Barbecue Sauce

Items needed

1 1/2 cups ketchup, 1 8 oz. can tomato soup, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup red wine vinegar, 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce, 2 tblspn soy sauce, juice from 1 lemon, 1 tspn bottled minced ginger, 1/2 tspn of the following: black pepper, dry mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, driesd oregano leaves, dried basil leaves, red pepper ( can be omitted for mild sauce), 1/4 tspn allspice.

Makes about 1 quart.

Stir all ingredients into a small sauce pan and mix well.

Bring to a boil over high heat.

Lower heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

The sauce can be stored in an air tight container and refrigerated for up to 30 days.
