Easy burger recipes.

The same rules apply to burger recipes as any other beef recipe. Make sure you get the right ground meet. The way ground meat is labeled is by percent of fat. For example, 90-10 burgers, which means 10% fat. Now remember when it comes to prime beef it will have a higher fat content like 80-20.

If your looking for really lean meat then bison or buffalo meat is for you. In fact many heart doctors recommend it for their patients because it is very lean, around 2% fat. this would be the healthier choice for you if you're searching for an alternative to beef. Buffalo burgers are very similar in flavor to beef so don't worry about it tasting different. I have to mention it in the beef section since it is similar to beef and I don't have a section on bison yet.

The other thing I hate about ground beef is when companies use filler like pork and other stuff in their burgers. It should be listed on the label. Sunrise Specialty Foods.com carries the best ground beef I've found so far. It is cryovac sealed, flash frozen and is 90-10 choice grade beef. Let's get on with the burger recipes.

Snappy pizza burgers

1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs.

4 thin slices mozzarella cheese.

4 hamburger buns.

Preheat your grill to medium-high.

Course chop the pepperoni.

In the 3 qt. bowl, mix the ground beef, pepperoni, pizza sauce and breadcrumbs. Mix well.

Shape into 4 hamburger patties.

Grill for approximately 5 min. per side or until desired doneness.

Turn off grill and place a piece of cheese on each burger until melted. 1-2 min.

Add burger to bun and add condiments. Enjoy.

Note: Remember to wash your hands after handling the raw meat.

Snappy Seasoned Burgers

Items needed:

Lean ground beef(quantity depends on guests)

Lowry's seasoned salt.

Onion salt.

Celery salt.

Pepper.

Parsley flakes.

Cheese and bacon if preferred.

Mix ground beef and the above ingredients in a bowl. The amount of ingredients is completely discretionary. We all have different taste. Be careful, a little goes a long way, Except when it comes to garlic. I don't think there is such a thing as too much.

Form ground beef into a size patty that is comfortable for you to eat. Remember, I encourage you to experiment on your own and use your own judgment.

Place on a preheated grill at about 400. The burgers will take approximately 3-5 min. per side for desired doneness.

Do not mush your burgers on the grill, you will dry them out. This is a common mistake but a professional chef will also give you this advise.

My wife came up with this recipe by experimenting. I encourage you to do the same and please share your findings with us.

Note: can also substitute ground turkey for ground beef. Cut cooking time in half since turkey is leaner.

Enjoy!
