Buy the grill with the best gas grill burners.

Burners are another part of grills that many of us are used to replacing, but that doesn't have to be the case. Many companies have changed over to stainless steel tube burners and others use brass. There are also brass plated tube burners which provide some rust protection. The cast-brass burners are the best in my expert opinion because they distribute the heat evenly and will not rust out, ever. Most grills are making a higher quality burner. the way to tell the solid brass vs. the brass plated is with the magnet. If it sticks, the burners will rust.

Some manufacturers even cover the burners with simple covers that look like tents.

This keeps the flame from reaching the food and are also are there to protect the burners from getting clogged up with gunk. some of the manufacturers have thought this out better than others and some have built burners with the holes more on the underside of the burner, protecting them from getting clogged. I was very fortunate to buy a grill with cast-brass burners with no covers over the burners and I have had no problems at all. I do take them out once in a while and brush off the carbon with a brass bristled brush. This type of brush is very important because brass is softer than steel and porcelain and will not damage any of your grill parts including the grates.
