Quick and easy marinara sauce recipes

Marinara sauce is yet another recipe subject to opinion and taste buds. some people enjoy bold and spicy, some like big chunky tomatoes, and others are the old plain style. We will do our homework here and try to accommodate everyone and once again, I look forward to hearing from you out there with your feedback. Here are a few to start with, enjoy.

Basic Marinara Sauce

Items needed

olive oil, 2 cups chopped onions, some minced garlic, 2 28 oz. cans crushed tomatoes, 1 6oz. can tomato paste, 1 1/2 tablespoon dry Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon sugar.

In a 4 1/2 Qt. pot, heat olive oil on medium heat.

Add onion and garlic and cook for about 3 min.

Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste and stir well.

Add worcestershire, Italian seasoning and sugar and stir well.

cover the pot and let simmer for about 10 min. stirring occasionally. Monitor that it is at a simmer and not a boil.

Remove from heat and enjoy on whatever dish you like.

Makes approximately 8 1/2 cups of sauce. Can be frozen for future use.
